Hello.
Does anybody know a good sound editing program? I have tried to work with Audacity. But it was a little bit difficult with Jaws. I often heard about Cubase, but didn't find any demo version to find out whever it works with Jaws. Is it possible to use Cubase with Jaws or not?

I heard Gold Wave works pretty well, and there is a trial version.

There's a Jaws guide for Audacity if you still want to give it a try.

Sorry I don't feel like making the links clickable.
Gold wave is a good program. And there are tutorials that you can get that will show you everything you need to know, including commands. Jaws scripts are also available.
Adobe Audition is another good one as well.
Total recorder also works nicely with screen readers as well.
Gotta sedcond the adobe audition. Love the thing and use it quite a bit.
Try wave pad. I use it allot. If you don't want to buy it you can downgrade it so it is free.
cubase isn't accessible. if you are looking for a multi track pro level program thats accessible like cubase then Sonar by Cakewalk is the be all and end all with its free jaws scripts from www.jsonar.org. Otherwise Goldwave is pretty accessible, but its only a stereo recorder. Audition i have been told works well with the jaws cursor but i never did figure it out used it more when my sight was better with zoomtext and its a great program. I am curious to know how you guys use audition as i never did get the jaws scripts for 1.5 working either. I need to check out that audacity guide to see if the multi tracking capabilities of audacity are accessible.
The scripts work well for Adobe Audition 1.0, but not so well with 1.5. I stick with 1.0 here. I've yet to try Audacity, so can't comment on that. I've also never used the editing features of Total Recorder, but as a recording program it works great! The thing about Audition is that it's not free, and I think the orriginal poster was looking for a free solution. Depending on what it is you are looking to do with the audio files, WavePad may suffice. Just google it, you'll find it quickly. GoldWave is also a nice program, and the trial version lasts for quite some time. Google goldwave and jaws scripts, and you'll find what you seek. I seem to recall a free text tutorial floating around for Goldwave as it pertains to use with screen readers, but can't remember where I got it from now. Good luck.
Audacity is quite accessible. I have used multitrack and it's fine. My biggest problem is I can't read time on it. So, if doing some mixing for Internet radio which I have done I can't tell how long a song is or segment the parts of the mix for commercial brakes. Otherwise it's quite good. You do have to remember to use the fit in window command quite a bit. There is a jaws guide available which is quite comprehensive.
This article gives recommendations about various accessible sound editing software, and an overview is given of each, so you can make an informed decision. i hope that this helps out.
I've tried using audacity, but just gave up with it in the end because I couldn't edit very well with JAWS. I never really worked out how to use gold wave or sound forge properly, but I have been told that they are both very accessible and you can download scripts for JAWS that will make Gold Wave even easier to use.
sound forge is my babyyyy! it's really accessible and to edit, it's just like sort of editing a word document! But it's not however, free!
hmmm, I might just look into sound forge then... I asked this question on twitter actualy, and got sound forge and sonar and audacity. I think I'll definitly take a look at sound forge.
The latest version of audacity is supposed to be more accessible thanit was in the past, i'll look into that jaws tutorial. Yeah i wish they kept up with the audition scripts cuz version 3.0 has a lot of cool new features. Goldwave, Sound forge and Sonar all have scripts for them. I believe the goldwave and sonar have free scripts, Sonar has paid scripts as well as i believe the sound forge ones are as well. Though the sound forge ones are a lot in expensive than the sonar paid ones.
I'm a window eyes user and I'm trying to work with audacity. I'm running into problems with amplifying selected tracks; either it amplifies all or none. Has anyone had that problem?
am ading my own question to this now. can someone tell me what program would be good for making my own ring tones? Thanks.
What type of a smart phone are you trying to creat ring tone for?
